Michael Cunningham is Senior Vice President of Public Policy for the Bay Area Council, with responsibility for representing the Bay Area Council and its members while working with public and private sector organizations to develop and implement solutions to the region’s transportation challenges.
Previously, Michael served as a transportation fiscal and policy analyst for the Legislative Analyst’s Office, the non-partisan analytical staff office of the California Legislature. Michael has also worked outside of transportation policy as a founding member of the Public Policy Analysis group at LECG, an international economic and public policy consulting firm headquartered in Emeryville. At LECG he managed and conducted economic and public policy analyses on issues ranging from tort reform to Indian casino gambling and electric utility restructuring.
Michael received a Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics and Mathematics from Claremont McKenna College and Master of Public Policy degree from the University of California at Berkeley. A native Californian and lifelong resident of the Golden State, Michael currently resides in Berkeley.
